Groundwater treatment plant for the removal of benzene
Treated media: Soil, Groundwater, Air
Flow rate: 2000 m3/h
Substances: Benzene
Processes: Catalytic oxidation
Commissioning: 2009
KF Company: Harbauer Berlin GmbH
The crude gas loaded with organic impurities (benzene) is supplied to the plant by means of the exhaust fan. First, the raw gas enters the air/air heat exchanger with a downstream electric heater, where it is preheated to 320 °C. After the heater, it enters the reactor, where it is heated to 400 °C by oxidation. During the flow through the catalyst bed, the pollutants are oxidized. After the catalyst, the purified exhaust gas flows through the heat exchanger, where it is cooled to about 180 °C. After the heat exchanger, the cleaned exhaust gas leaves the plant.
