Cause
The existing demineralized water system at the VW plant in Emden is to be adapted to the increasing demand for water. Large parts of the plant will be renewed and extended, while the basic process technology will be retained.
Process
As part of the Bicolor Hall 17B project, the existing demineralized water system at the Emden plant was adapted to meet the increasing demand for demineralized water.
After consultation with the client, the system was implemented with the following components:
- City water supply line (new)
- Raw water filtration (new)
- Raw water tank (new)
- Fine filtration (new)
- Reverse osmosis (new)
- Permeate pump tank (new)
- demineralized water tanks (existing);
- Piping (new)
- demineralized water pumping station (new)
- UV sterilization with subsequent fine filtration (new)
- Piping network to consumption points (existing or extension)
The adaptation/renewal of the demineralized water system was carried out during ongoing operations in several conversion steps at the existing location.
