The “Wakley Road” sewage pumping station odor control system in Ottawa region was one of the first Neutralox installations for sewage pumping station odor control in North America.
The odor control unit has been under intensive investigation of the local UL/CSA authorities. Intensive tests have been carried out before UL/CSA finally labeled the odor control unit and approved the system for handling class 1/div. 2 classified off gas.
The system now handles typical sewage pumping station odors, containing H2S and other reduced sulfur compounds. Odor concentrations vary quite a bit, depending on time and season. The independence of the technology from local conditions (temperature, humidity etc.) ensures safe operation at all time.
Further installations followed in the US and Canada.
